This post is going to make me more than a little sad. Burgers are amazing. I remember them, their juiciness. The overfull feeling after finishing one. Now, burgers remind me that the food will most likely get stuck, hurt, and cause me grief.
However, I still love eyeballing burgers. So, for my slightly EK take on Ten on Tuesday:
10 Things I Would Put on a Burger if I Knew I Could Get One Down!*
1. Applewood bacon (I remember this on a burger...it was epic)
2. Goat cheese
3. Heinz Balsamic Ketchup. I recently bought some of this and wish I could burger it up.
4. Roughly chopped and sauteed garlic
5. Diced McClure's pickles...garlic dill most likely...
6. Some sort of champagne mustard. It makes everything better.
7. Mushrooms...oh man...some of my best childhood memories include Hardees' mushroom swiss burgers.
8. A1 steak sauce. I still try to eat Five Guys sometimes. It usually ends badly but always includes A1
9. Tomato picked from my mom's garden. They are always so much better fresh off the vine and grown in Southern soil. I've had the oft discussed "Jersey Tomato." Such a let down.
10. Hot sauce or some sort of super fancy barbecue sauce...maybe both.
*Most likely not all of this on one burger...that would be a bit much
I miss burgers. The CEO loves Burger Bistro and goes with a beef burger on a whole wheat bun with sharp cheddar, bacon, and chipotle mayo.
We both agree that the best burgers are made of bison.
I am now contemplating is being thin is really better than a a great burger tastes.
