As I previously mentioned, about 6 weeks ago, The CEO and I traveled to Cody, WY to visit some very special people. While we were there, we couldn't help but notice that Cody has a winery...with a tasting room. Did we go? You bet your bottom dollar we did. The CEO and I spent quite a pleasant afternoon at Buffalo Jump Winery. Its a cool place with cool people. Winery owners Beckie Tilden and Scott Wagner are amazing people. It even turns out that not only lived in NY but his office was in the building where I had worked up until the week before we visited.
Wyoming is not the greatest place to grow wine grapes (or most anything for that matter) so Buffalo Jump buys the grapes from California and processes the wine in Wyoming. The resulting wines are delicious. There is nothing sweet or cutesy about these wines...oh no. They are complex, mature, and very bold.
After spending several hours tasting wine and getting to know the folks at Buffalo Jump, we bought a case. And it arrived recently.
Here is our loot!
Buffalo Jump is currently only sold in local eateries as well as some Jackson eateries. I hope the distribution gets bigger soon. If you are in the area and have a chance to try these wines, you really should.
