Someday my food will look as pretty as some of the amazing bloggers' I read. Anyway, this next recipe tasted really good. So try it for the pictures of the original if mine are just too ick ick ick.
I found this recipe here at Brown Eyed Baker (clearly a favorite recipe finding site for me). I chose it because it seemed so simple and delicious and I wasn't wrong.
Here are the Ingredients (I adapted a bit based on what I had on hand):
16 oz of your favorite sausage, casings removed
8 oz cream cheese
14 oz picante sauce (I just used basic Mexican Old El Paso stuff as I had it in the fridge)
You might also note that, as I often do, I halved the recipe. There was still a TON.
Directions:
Brown the sausage. I really struggled getting it into tiny pieces. Try harder than I did as the smaller, the easier to eat.
Move to a sauce pan and stir in the cream cheese and the picante sauce. Heat and cook until mixed together.
Serve.
It's so simple and yet really, really tasty. The CEO ate a bunch of it and loved it. The original recipe calls for making this in the microwave, which may be better. I don't have a microwave, so I will never know.
This would be the perfect recipe for when people come over unexpectedly or you have a hungry man making "feed me" eyes at you.
It's really good. The CEO said this was the MVP.
NoM!
