15 September 2012 - Chance Asian Bistro

Since wandering Brooklyn is what we do, Saturday afternoon found The CEO and me in Carroll Gardens.  We were going to have brunch but most of the spots had very bread heavy menus and I just can't get it down.

So we decided to have an adventure and stopped into Chance Asian Bistro

We started with cocktails, a Vodka Soda for The CEO and the much lauded St. Germaine Mojito for me.

We both settled on a lunch special, which was served Bento box style and came with a spring roll, entree, rice, salad and soup.

The CEO had the chicken hot and sour soup:
I must confess I am pretty proud of this photo
I stole a bite and this was really yummy.  I think bamboo shoots are where its at and this had many.  I am going to try and find a recipe to replicate this as I think it would make a great winter sinus clearing dish.

I had the Shrimp Wonton soup:

This too was good.  It wasn't spicy and the flavor was very soothing.  The dumplings were bite sized and good.  Not a bad choice (although I think the CEO's was better).

For lunch I had curried noodles with chicken and shrimp and The CEO had duck (are we sensing a theme here).  I didn't take pictures.

We also had the chicken shumai and the steamed shrimp dumplings.  I neglected to photograph those as well.

I'm glad we took a chance and went to Chance.  The food was good, the service great, and I had the best company on Earth.

I'd go again.

NoM!
