10 On Tuesday

So...It has just been an exhausting couple of weeks.  In all good ways.  The CEO put two of his amazing kiddos back on a plane to the West yesterday.  The apartment seems so quiet without them and Teddy is looking like this:

Yes indeed, it is a shock to have them gone but we have so many amazing memories.  And then, yesterday, the Ten On Tuesday topic came out and I knew it was the perfect starter for a new blog post.  I will keep it short and simple and then tomorrow I may share my "Dressed Up Mac & Cheese With Crunchy Potatoes" recipe for you.  It's Sandra Lee style "semi homemade" but delish.

But for today...

10 Favorite Kitchen Gadgets (yay!)

10.  A meat thermometer.  I have a bit of a chicken paranoia since someone I knew in high school got salmonella (Yes, It has been 15 years and I am still afraid).  Seriously, this thermometer makes sure I am not going to become violently ill.  LOVE IT!

9.  Silpats.  Buy them, you need them.  Making everything from cookies to reheating pizza is so much better now that I have a few of these.

8.  Whisks, but my flat whisk to be specific.  I also like a good balloon whisk.

7.   The Ninja chopper.  It's the best I have ever used.  (Thanks to The CEO's dad for the gift)

6.  A grinder/sausage maker.  These often make pasta too but how much fun is making sausage?

5.  A meat injector and a good pastry brush.  These count as one for me as they are the tools that make one bang up chicken.

4.  A good, high powered blender.  My favorite is the Ninja 1200 (another Christmas gift...from The CEO's Mom!)

3.  Our Cuisineart electric fondue pot.  Who doesn't love fondue?  This was one of my favorite gifts from The CEO and we use it whenever we can.

2.  A decent food scale.  Sometimes weighing things makes all the difference in the world.

1.  The Ninja 3 in 1 cooking system.  I cannot live without this thing.  Last year a simple crockpot would have been the answer but now I know that this exists and a normal crockpot just won't do!

Most of the items not attributed to someone came from The CEO.  And this is less than half of the amazing kitchen stuff I have and cannot live without.

And this doesn't even touch on the kitchen essentials like good mixing bowls, sharp knives, an awesome peeler, pots and pans, etc etc etc.  There is so much fun to be had in the kitchen.

And the one kitchen gadget I don't have but covet is a deep fryer.  But I don't need one.

NoM!

I have some knitting stuff to discuss.  I still need Koigu KPPPM to finish The CEO's Uncle's socks and I am trying to figure out this Magic Loop sock knitting thing.  But of course I picked a pattern that is not only Magic Loop but also uses Judy's Magic Cast On.  I cannot find a single tutorial using both.  Can anyone shed some light?

So, while I figure it out, I have been making hexapuffs.
