14 October 2012 - Bacon Cheeseburger Crescent Rolls of Yum

ugh...I've been MIA awhile.  It turns out that being out of work does not, in fact, free one up to blog all day.  Rather, I have been cleaning, organizing things I couldn't find time to organize, and dealing with those little issues that fall through the cracks.    I've also done a tremendous amount of cooking...I just haven't been writing about it.

Some of it has been noteworthy, some not but  I will share the good stuff with you.  There's nothing humorously bad, thank goodness.

But back to the football foodz recipes I owe you...

First up are The Bacon Cheeseburger Crescents I made.  These were taken almost exactly from the original recipe over at Plain Chicken.  You can find that here.  The only real change of note is that I halfed the recipe since it was just The CEO and me.

Ingredients:

.5 lb lean ground beef
a handful of pre cooked bacon (mine is crumbled so I can't gauge slices...I eyeballed it)
4 oz velveeta
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce (plus extra to taste...I didn't half this one)
Garlic salt
1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls

Directions:

These are uber easy so brace yourself.

Preheat the oven to 375.

Brown and then drain the hamburger meat.  Stir in the bacon, garlic salt (the original recipe calls for onion flakes...don't have 'em around), and worcestershire sauce.  Then, melt in the velveeta.  Taste your mixture and add more of anything you think it needs...I added more worcestershire.

Try not to eat it all.

Then, open the crescents and roll them out.  Put a pile of mixture on each one and roll it up.  This takes some eyeballing and it took me a bit to get it right.  Roll up the crescents and put them on a greased (I used cooking spray).  Bake those bad boys for about 12-15 minutes but keep an eye on them to make sure they don't get too overdone.

Cool and EAT!

These are good.  The boys (Teddy and Simon...aka my dogs) really liked these and so did The CEO and I.

Try 'em for your next football feast.  Or because you are hungry or something.

NoM!
