I cooked...nothing

Last night we ate leftover Chicken Dorito...or rather, The CEO did while I ate tomato soup with stars as my lap band friend has been a real frenemy this week.  FYI, it tastes as good reheated in the oven as it did fresh.  Nom.

Anyway, while we watched Atlas Shrugged: Part I on Netflix, I was cruising through and reading some of my favorite blogs...you know I must keep hoarding collecting recipes or we may starve...and I kept noticing that the CEO was looking at the blogs.  I asked him what was catching his eye and he made some very true statements about how bad a photographer I am.  (I should also point out that what he was REALLY looking at was some of the amazing photography my fellow food bloggers do...and he is right).

Since he is NOT a bad photog, we came up with a plan for dealing with the somewhat dim lighting and beige walls in the abode.  So anticipate nicer photos on the blog.

He also helped me to see that the design of my blog...well, stunk.  So it got a bit of an overhaul.

Meanwhile, Dagny Taggert was rocking it out on my TV and building the John Galt line and a bridge made of Rearden Metal.

So, I didn't cook last night.  But I have found some recipes to die for...maybe you can make some of these too...

This Jalapeño Popper Chicken over at Elly says Opa! is much more sinful looking than in actuality.  I want to eat it and take a nap.  Jalapeño poppers are almost perfect in and of themselves but to then add chicken...oh man.

A blog I LOVE LOVE LOVE these days is Generation Y Foodie, which is run by a lawyer by day who gives me awesome recipes.  Win...win...win.  I've curated about eh, 10 recipes from this site, but this one has me salivating: Lentil Cakes.  I love lentils and I read the ingredients expecting something really bad to take these away from me.  But there is, seriously, there really isn't.  In fact, the recipe has things I LOVE like kale and sriracha and balsamic vinegar.

This last one is so a splurge and the CEO does not like "fungus" so I would be alone.  Or drafting a friend.  But...regardless, observe the recipe for a flippin' Black Truffle and Garlic Roast Chicken.  On what occassion does one indulge in that level of decadency?  Thanks to What Katie Ate for that fruitless drooling for black truffles.

So until tomorrow with better pictures.

  1. Ooooohhh, is the CEO going to build a light box or something fancy?! I am curious. Also, those lentil cakes are on my Must Eat list now. They look amazing.

    1. Haley, I am not so certain about a light box but we have discussed a plain white table cloth. We will see. He IS an engineer. I almost made the lentil cakes last night and haven't ruled them out for tonight.
